On April 1st, 1918 the Royal Air Force was formed by amalgamating the Royal Flying Corps and the Royal Naval Air Service. To commemorate the 100th Anniversary, a flypast took place over London on 10th July 2018.
The participants included examples of every type in front-line service except, for some reason, neither the King Air (which is due to be retired in 2018) nor it’s replacement, the Embraer Phenom, were present.
I traveled to Waterloo Bridge to watch the flypast and capture some images. As usual, the English weather didn’t play ball – this was the only day in the midst of a 3 week period that it was not sunny (and hot!).
