Phil Dawe and his team work hard at putting together these nights to raise funds for his continuing restoration of the Battle of Britain Sector Operations Building at RAF Northolt. You can find out more about his project at https://www.northoltnightshoots.com/.
He makes every effort to get something of interest ‘under the lights’ on the apron but as ever, operational tasking sometimes means that the expected participants gets reduced.
And so it happened for Nightshoot XXVII on March 16th, 2023 – sadly the number of aircraft available was down on expectations but nevertheless it was a good evening, with a pair of colourful Armée de l’Air PC-21’s, a vintage Westland Scout, both the based Helimed MD-900 Explorers and a RCAF/ARC Lockheed CC-130J Hercules.
The weather held for most of the evening, with some light rain falling towards the end, as the CC-130J started up and departed.
Here are the images I took.
